Betsey Bradley was born in 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. She started drawing her classmates in junior high and the challenge of capturing reality began . She attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusettes. Having done numerous pastel portraits in hotel lobbies and resorts during the summers between college, she developed an eye for color and likeness. Self taught and working with oil for a few years, the artist discovered acrylic had numerous advantages.
Betsey has had a past collector plate contract with the Bradford Exchange. She has had many commissioned portraits in pencil, pastel, and acrylic. Her work has been exhibited in New York City at the National Acrylic and Casein Show, the Catherine Lorrilard Wolfe Art show, and the Real Show.
